Kestrel Video Presentation
Kestrel UAV Vision System
Kestrel is a software system for real-time analysis of aerial surveillance video. Kestrel detects and tracks moving objects on the land or sea below a UAV.
Its leading-edge computer vision system is capable of detecting and tracking objects smaller than 2 pixels in size, even over mountainous terrain. It can track targets that are too small, moving too slowly or that are too camouflaged for human operators to detect.
Sentient has supplied licenses to the Australian Department of Defence and is developing further enhancements for both commercial and Defence use.
Sentient has produced a video presentation to show the key performance abilities of the Kestrel system plus some extra videos with the Kestrel program working. Click here to watch videos.
Kestrel is available for two types of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance:
UAV Land Surveillance
Kestrel Land Surveillance software enables EO/IR sensors to detect and track moving targets on the ground below a UAV. Kestrel is able to maintain wide area surveillance due to its unique ability to be able to detect the movement of very small objects, including humans, moving very slowly from considerable distances below the UAV.
Kestrel specialises in alerting operators to unseen objects moving in well-camouflaged, mountainous or urban terrains. Kestrel can either be installed as a plug in to your existing Ground Station feed, or installed into the payload of your UAV for optimal performance. Click here for more information.
UAV Maritime Surveillance
Kestrel Maritime Surveillance software enables EO/IR sensors to detect and track both moving, and stationary objects on the water below a UAV. Kestrel operates effectively in environments up to sea state 5, specialising in alerting operators to objects that are small, or difficult for humans to see. Kestrel is able to maintain wide area surveillance due to its unique ability to be able to detect the movement of very small objects, including small fishing vessels, from considerable distances below the UAV. Kestrel can either be installed as a plug in to your existing Ground Station feed, or installed into the payload of your UAV for optimal performance. Click here for more information
